The band's name was decided due to the members like of chocolates (ココア Cocoa ) and all of them are men (男 Otoko ).[1]
On December 2011, the band announced that they will disband in March 2012. They wrote on their official website, "It’s sudden, but we, Cocoa Otoko, will be disbanding in March 2012. Before we knew it, Cocoa Otoko became ‘a place of return’. But this was decided in order for the five of us to grow even more."[2]
